AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL)

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR):
2152 - Air Traffic Control Series. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
The applicant must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this position that has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. To be creditable, one year of the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11), pay band or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as the ability to create, design and/or develop new air traffic control systems or concepts; and analyze, test, and evaluate current or new air traffic control procedures, methods, systems, or concepts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), policies directives and regulations and other publications pertaining to Air Traffic Control training standardization/evaluation and ATC simulation equipment requirements. 2. Expert knowledge of the rules, regulations, and procedures governing the conduct of air traffic control operations and the separation of aircraft in terminal radar approach control and control tower operations; and of the functional and operational limitations of all ATC equipment including radar systems, navigational aids (NAVAIDS), weather indicators, remote status indicators, radios, landlines, recording equipment, ATC simulation systems, and any other equipment pertaining to ATC services; and of significant weather conditions that affect the safety of air traffic operations. 3. Knowledge of ATC management practices, rules and regulations relating to ATC waivers, ATC certificate suspension and withdrawal packages processing in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines. 4. Ability to communicate effectively and disseminate information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, through written reports, memos, as well as presentations/briefings to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. 5. Skill in evaluating meteorological products and services for accuracy and compliance. Knowledge and skill in the management of weather station operations; preparation of meteorological weather observations and forecast. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regular and recurring work generally involves sitting at a desk, in conference or meetings. Occasional visits to airfields (runway, taxiways and aprons) or other work sites will occur. Occasional use of automobile and public conveyance is required. Special physical exertion may be required during on site airfield inspections and evaluations. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves the everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Office work areas are adequately heated, lighted and ventilated. On site airfield environments may expose employee to excess noise, exhaust, temperatures and other occupational hazards found on or near an airfield. Key Position:
This position has been designated as Key/Emergency Essential. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the Key/E-E duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent or the designated alternate may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of a Key/E-E position and requires that the incumbent, or the designated alternate, be removed from military recall status. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
