30 AM - 8PM) We are currently seeking a dietary aide to join our team and work with the cook and food service staff, assisting with meal preparation and sanitation of the dining and food service areas.
The ideal candidate for this position will maintain high standards of sanitation, food quality, and customer service during high-volume, fast-paced operations.
Responsibilities and Duties Prepare dining room and tables for meal service, set up tables with appropriate condiments, and utensils.
Present menus, take food and beverage orders, and serve meals to patients in the dining areas.
Monitor and document meal intake and offer alternant menu items to patients when appropriate.
Check with patients and guest to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and act to correct any concerns or issues.
Assist with setup of the serving line, serving meals, and delivery of meal carts to nursing units.
Read diet tray cards and ensure patients individual food preferences and nutritional needs are met.
Cleaning of the dining area and tables after meals.
Cleaning of the kitchen after meals and as you work during your shift.
Perform a variety of food preparation duties such as cooking, breads, desserts, preparing cold foods items, slicing and chopping meats and vegetables, and brewing coffee or tea.
Assist with stocking, inventory and rotating stock to ensure older items are used first.
Monitor and record temperatures of food, equipment and storage areas.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles Washing and storing dishes, utensils, and food storage containers.
Qualifications and Skills Previous dietary aide experience in a health care or Institutional food service setting preferred.
Ability to follow standardized recipes.
Must be willing and able to work well within a team environment.
Strong customer service skills.
Able to work quickly and efficiently.
