Summary:
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for the billing and collections of all Houston Healthcare patient accounts.
Record and generate variety of information pertaining to the patient revenue process.
Accurate, high-performance level position requires certain degree of knowledge of complex rules and corresponding ability to apply these rules in the work environment to achieve desired outcomes.
Responsible for processing all self-pay and insurance payments via electronic remits and lockbox.
Corrects misapplied payments.
Distributes petty cash.
Balances general ledger daily.
Review remits and EOB's for accuracy of posting and adjustments.
Qualifications:
Education & Training:
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Two (2) years experience processing payments and making deposits, physician office or billing and collections or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Customer Service experience, both in person and telephone.
Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
None.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong negotiation and collection skills.
Strong data and organization skills.
Ability to communicate orally and in written form.
Team oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to utilize and understand computer technology.
Must have basic accounting skills.
Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
