Recreation Specialist

Summary About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Robins AFB Outdoor Recreation.
Responsibilities This is a developmental position designed to prepare the incumbent for increased responsibility with Outdoor Recreation.
Incumbent assists in planning, managing, and maintaining a broad range of outdoor recreation activities.
Serves as lead planner for Outdoor Recreation Recharge 4 Resiliency (R4R) and Outdoor Adventure activities and events.
Leads R4R and outdoor adventure trips.
Submits cost breakdown and trip plan for Director approval prior to each trip and detailed trip report after each trip.
Maintains trip and event historical records according to base records management guidelines.
Assists in developing a yearly calendar of Outdoor recreation programs and activities.
Assists in the upkeep and preparation of Outdoor Recreation assigned facilities.
Assists with market studies to determine the types of outdoor recreation events and activities desired by the customer.
Briefs the base populace on Outdoor Recreation offerings.
Assists in the development of the Outdoor Recreation annual marketing plan and creation of the annual budget.
Assists with outdoor pool opening and closing preparation and with oversight of pool operations during the summer season.
Serves as a backup for equipment rental counter personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifying
Experience:
Knowledge of basic principles, procedures, and practices of operating Outdoor Recreation programs is highly recommended.
Highly recommended to have experience planning and leading leisure/recreational trips involving large groups.
Experience of briefing large groups is desired.
Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Proficient in typing.
Must have strong writing skills.
Skill in preparing forms, schedules, and reports related to the obligation and expenditure of funds highly desired.
RecTrac and cash handling experience desired.
Working knowledge of development of cost analysis and after action reports desired.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to successfully complete a Tier 1 Investigation.

FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.

education program.

Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
